The kitchen....Heart of a home...If true, ours was on life support for some time and the transplant finally occurred during 2015. A major undertaking considering it was essentially done alone, on weekends (with a few major contributions by Allan) and ran over a five month period.
It is now complete and frankly we are quite pleased with the outcome. I won’t bore you with all the gory details and numerous daily construction photos. Instead, a few before and after photos will show where the journey began and ended.
A few quick mentions is that the cabinets are maple in expresso brown with full wood (plywood) boxes and soft-close doors and drawers. The countertops are granite, the floor is 3/4” oak 5” wide planks and the appliances are LG. The East Northport Home Depot’s design department (Michelle) was an invaluable resource and highly recommended. They were the source for the cabinets, floor and countertops as well as much of the construction materials as you might expect. Appliances from P. C. Richards and the white glass backsplash was from Cancos.
